Introducing Pop newcomer Agi and her captivating single ‘Crying Past Midnight’

Leeds’ very own Agi has come to shake up the UK’s pop scene, as she shares her first solo track ‘Crying Past Midnight’. Agi’s slightly raspy, Brit-style vocals are effortlessly distinctive, and add a wonderful layer to the track’s energetic synth and explosive percussion. Going in a more introspective direction lyrically, Agi’s honesty and vulnerability is expressed beautifully throughout.

Discussing the song, Agi explains: “This song is about an inevitable breakdown of a relationship. Not only is it very personal and close to home, but it also represents the way I want to be as a person. In hard and challenging situations, I always want to be graceful and understanding. I treated it almost like a conversation that I would want to have with the other person. Even when we’re both hurting, it’s about still being full of love and passion and wanting to lift the other person up so they don’t suffer.”

Previously making her mark through collaborations and writing with other artists, Agi has now stepped out alone and is showcasing exactly why she deserves the spotlight. Producing an addictive sound reminiscent of Julia Michaels and Lorde, Agi is putting her own spin on feel-good anthems. With a bright future ahead, be sure to watch out for Agi’s return.
