In Rotterdam, where cultural diversity thrives, singer-songwriter Jessy Yasmeen finds her muse. Drawing inspiration from the rebellious troubadours of yesteryears and infusing it with her soulful spirit, Jessy creates music that transcends genres and speaks to the depths of the human experience.
Now, Jessy Yasmeen joins forces with the eclectic fusion trio 3SOME, comprising the virtuosic talents of pianist Davide Rasetti, drummer Daan Arets, and bassist Gianluca Calo. Together, they embark on a musical journey that defies convention and explores new sonic landscapes.
Their latest release, ‘That Day’, serves as a captivating introduction to their collaborative genius. Recorded live at the prestigious Wisseloord Studios, the track radiates with an undeniable chemistry, weaving together Jessy’s emotive vocals with the dynamic instrumentation of 3SOME. Backed by the enchanting harmonies of Zorah Lagerwerf and Lindi Konings, ‘That Day’ delves into themes of hidden pain and the healing power of music.
Reflecting on the song, Jessy shares, “This song describes a moment I’ve long suppressed and couldn’t find the courage to talk about. I felt guilt and shame, while it wasn’t my fault. I realised I had to write about this for my own healing process, but also because it is not only part of mine but our reality and therefore needs to be outspoken.”
As they gear up for their upcoming tour in Havana, Cuba, Jessy and 3SOME are poised to enchant audiences with their soul-stirring melodies and infectious energy. Collaborating with local artists and musicians, they aim to infuse their music with a Latin flair, further enriching their sonic tapestry.
With a debut album on the horizon and a tour that promises to captivate hearts and minds, Jessy Yasmeen and 3SOME are ready for a big and exciting year ahead in 2024.
