Johnny Vitulli pays tribute to his roots with heartfelt single ‘Bronx Love’

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Johnny Vitulli captures the essence of resilience, nostalgia, and unwavering pride in his latest single, Bronx Love. Blending sentimental indie-pop melodies with evocative storytelling, the track paints a vivid picture of the Bronx where hardship, hope, chaos and community, exist in a delicate balance.

The inspiration for Bronx Love struck Vitulli while driving through the Bronx with his father. As they passed familiar scenes of struggle, his father’s simple words “The Bronx is love” became the foundation for this deeply personal anthem.

Sonically, Bronx Love is both melancholic and uplifting, featuring dynamic guitar work, rich textures, and emotionally charged lyrics. True to Vitulli’s signature style, the song channels the raw energy of New York life while maintaining a universal appeal. His poetic songwriting transports listeners straight to the Bronx, immersing them in its spirit, struggles, and undeniable sense of belonging.

“Our lives were chaotic and uncertain growing up, but we could always rely on the professionalism and consistency of the Yankees,” Vitulli shares. “Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera represented something steady, something to believe in. Yankee Stadium was our refuge, a beacon of hope amidst the darkness of the city streets. The contrast between those two worlds—the gritty reality of the Bronx and the almost spiritual feeling inside that stadium—was something I had to capture in this song.”

At its core, Bronx Love is a love letter to the city that shaped Vitulli and a testament to the philosophy he holds dear—one inspired by his musical heroes, Bad Brains: “Love is the answer.”
