Charlotte pop-rock artist, Joseph Gallo, is back with his new album ‘Grand Opening‘. The 12-track collection takes listeners on a journey of growth and self reflection. In his words, “The term ‘Grand Opening’ is based on how these songs reflect off of a new me. As I have grown up and experienced things, I feel like I have changed a lot.” With catchy melodies, and an addictive rock-driven energy, Gallo creates a sound that’s both meaningful and danceable alike.
The album starts off with ‘Grand Opening’, the fittingly named title track, which sets a cinematic tone. Track two ‘Right Here Right Now’ brings a message of living in the moment and embracing life with lyrics like “Love can’t run out. Why hide from the ghosts when we’re right here right now.” The theme of change runs throughout, as Gallo reflects on the person he’s become. Lyrics like “I always run around, asking for a sadder sound. When will I know I’m allowed to have my heart grow fonder” in ‘The Heart Grows Fonder’ shows how we can find positivity if we just allow ourselves to grow.
Gallo describes Grand Opening as a look back at his life.“This album was me looking back at the figurative VHS tapes and memories of the past, and choosing who I want to be from now on.” It’s about embracing both the struggles and the growth that come with the struggles of life.
As well as being an artist, Gallo works as a producer and audio engineer, and his experience behind the scenes has helped shape his sound. Grand Opening isn’t just a collection of songs – it’s a fresh look inside of Gallo’s journey and the latest chapter he’s embarked on.
