In a world heavy with worries and uncertainties, Joshua Idehen’s latest track, “All You Can Do Is Try,” stands as a beacon of hope and resilience. The Stockholm-based British-Nigerian musician and poet delivers this soulful club anthem with his signature spoken-word style, interweaving vulnerability and strength. Idehen’s powerful performance persona navigates life’s myriad of challenges, offering sage wisdom: “Sometimes all you can do is try, alright, I’m saying, sometimes all you can do is try, and that’ll have to be alright, I promise it’ll be alright.”
The genesis of this empowering motto is rooted in Idehen’s personal experience. He recalls, “It was the first song we made after we finished the first project, Learn to Swim. I was on a UK support tour when Ludvig sent this amazing beat, which sounded like an expansion on the sounds from ‘I Got You Every Step Of The Way’. While trying out chorus ideas, I found out that one tour night I would be performing to just two people. It sucked, but I was weirdly serene about it. I texted a photo to my partner with the words ‘All you can do is try,’ and she responded, ‘I promise that will be alright.’ And ding! The chorus wrote itself.”
“All You Can Do Is Try” radiates a feel-good atmosphere from the opening note. With a soundscape of slick keys, energetic hi-hats, and a vibrant four-to-the-floor drum line, Joshua’s poetic vocals sail over each verse. The chorus is infectious, radiating good energy and summer vibes. Collaborating with producer and instrumentalist Ludvig Parment, Idehen fuses poetry with modern club sounds, creating a track that is both emotionally powerful and dance-inducing.
Joshua Idehen’s “All You Can Do Is Try” is more than just a track; it’s a soulful anthem of perseverance and self-acceptance, blending heartfelt lyrics with vibrant club rhythms. Whether you’re seeking reflection or a reason to dance, this single promises to resonate deeply with listeners.
