Jude The Obscure releases ‘Chapter 8’

‘Chapter 8’ is the second offering from Manchester based multi-hyphenate Jude the Obscure. Opening with the jazzy trumpet riffs and shimmering piano melodies of the hook, Jude soon breaks into his kinetic rap flow. His lyrics are poetic and authentic, gently uplifting listeners with a message of resilience. As also exhibited on his debut single ‘Strong Enough’, Jude the Obscure specialises in nuanced production, creating effortless harmony between his hip-hop vocal and neo-jazz instrumental.

Speaking of the release, Jude says: “’Chapter 8’ is a feel-good number, shedding the weight of hardships and social disillusion in favour of a more light-hearted take on life. ‘Chapter 8’ reinforces the importance of keeping your head above water and overcoming personal struggles, but at the same time reminds us of the need for balance – don’t burn yourself out chasing whatever goal you’re trying to attain. Make sure you chill out every once in a while, live a little and take time to recharge.”

Jude the Obscure is a songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist based in South Manchester. Inspired by the music scene of the city around him, Jude has been honing his craft in preparation for his debut EP due to be released later this year. He has received notable praise from the likes of Peachy Magazine, Elevator and Mystic Sons amongst others, as well as a feature on BBC Introducing. This is an artist with scintillating potential.
