Kate Castro hails from Spokane, Washington, and has been immersed by music all her life. This passion saw her start performing at ceremonial functions and sporting events around her city at the age of 15. It’s clear to see the Castro is an established live performer, however, she had to get a full-time job to support her musical dreams and ambitions. Speaking about these important experiences, she says: “I think everything happens at the right time, even if we don’t feel like it is or how hard life can get. I had to put my dreams as a full time singer/musician on hold while I got some roots and made a little money in LA while working in sales/insurance.”
Kate Castro is set to make her mark on 2023 with her new single “Telepathy.” The single manages to blend tranquil sounds with infectious melodies, creating a unique and refreshing sound. “Telepathy” features lo-fi drums, understated guitar lines and divine backing vocals. Her vocals are irresistible and partner well with emotional lyrics.
Speaking about the track, she says she wants her audience to: “… interpret the song however they’d like while enjoying the sound. Feelings of passion and uncertainty are universal. I’ve always loved the word and meaning of Telepathy. From there, I went with experienced feelings. Spirituality is a large part of my life and I believe we communicate in more ways than the usual communication=speaking.”
