Kitchen Lover shares off-the-rails single ‘There Goes My Brains’

Brighton punks Kitchen Lover are continuing their 2025 release run. The latest is ‘There Goes My Brains’. Fuzzed out with chaos, it hits the audience straight toward their debut album, The Circus Sideshow Dream, out next month. Erik Miles is on production, and Kitchen Lover provides every ounce of urgency, fieriness and loose swagger you can fit into a two-minute runtime.

The tongue-in-cheek foundations continue, but that is far from restricting the punch. Unbridled energy with non-stop riffs, drums and bass, above which a simultaneously lolling and snarling vocal. It’s off the rails and still won’t hit the brakes.

Lyrically, there’s a midnight desperation to the track, “Cut from the same cloth as the man with the darkest heart, this boy can’t comprehend why his part-time lover won’t comply with his late-night booty calls. The type we’ve all been victims of and probably perpetrators of, too. The desperate little boy, completely unaware of his feelings, can only scream in despair and anger as his mind overloads with insecurity.”

In a breakout year for Kitchen Lover, which had nearly 50 UK shows, sold-out gigs and support slots for Getdown Services, Frankie And The Witch Fingers and Toya Delazy. Tastemaker praise too, and with a debut album and more gigs on the way, this is undoubtedly Kitchen Lover’s time.
