A trio of Brighton-hailing punk noise makers, Kitchen Lover, have just unveiled ‘Oregano Ricardo’, a fuzzy, driving single that captures a stirring theatrical chaos. This is something they’ve leant into, the single being the third from debut album The Circus Sideshow Dream, teed up for September release.

With top-drawer production from Erik Miles (SOFT PLAY, Kate Nash), the energy is powered into tight fills and riffs, and vocals that howl the lyrical poetry. Simmering, spiralling and eventually erupting into a runaway train of instruments and attitude.

“The fantasy daydream of a renowned tale,” is how the band describe it, “two men fighting over the same woman, except in this case the man Marcel is fighting against (and losing) is a beautifully pruned Oregano plant.”

The stormy sounds come from nearly 50 shows in the past year, building their sweat-soaked live reputation, and a bit of attention from tastemakers across the UK, mainland Europe and the US. A bit of international momentum is impressive, and where there’s smoke, there’s fire, so get your ears around Kitchen Lover before you’re behind the curve.
