kleio release raw melodies of ‘the avenue’

Rising stars from the Irish circuit, kleio, have spent 2024 maturing in their songwriting, refining their sound and drawing more and more attention from tastemakers. Selling out shows in Waterford and Dublin, supporting Post-Party in Limerick and Barstaff in Manchester, their live scene stock is higher than it’s ever been, whilst their recorded music is hailed by renowned music press.

Their latest track, ‘the avenue’, continues their trend of acceleration, bringing some of their most enticing songwriting to date. Opening with ethereality, shimmering synths give way to a distorted, spacious guitar melody. The vocals are soft and sombre, their emotions unravelling as more instrumentation joins into the chorus build-up.

From this point onward the kleio fans know and love begins to shine, with raw, anthemic chords filling the atmosphere and indie-rock exuberance fuelling the forward movement. An utterly complete package, kleio gets more exciting with each release.

kleio’s lead songwriter, Luke, explains the track, “I think The Avenue was a big step for the band in terms of songwriting. We usually stick to the classic song structure. We didn’t start writing the song thinking we’d create such a cinematic piece but everything just fell into place, it was one of those songs that wrote itself. I think when we finished writing it we said to ourselves that we’d never written a song like it. The avenue feels like a matured version of our sound while maintaining much of the same themes as our previous releases. It’s a song that myself and Alex are incredibly proud of.”
