KOKO Return with Dance Smash ‘Talk’

Bristol-based three-piece KOKO return after nearly a year hiatus with a new single ‘Talk’. The track sees the band deliver an electro-pop smash with house and hip hop elements.

The band said: “‘Talk’ is about a time in your life where things could be worse, but things could be better. The thing that gets you through those times is that one person to help you reminisce on times together. Whether this is love, family or friendship, it’s that feeling that you’re at your highest when you are connecting with that person!”

Oliver Garland (vocals), Harry Dobson (bass, synth) and Ashley C (synths, lead guitar) met at a party in Bristol in 2017. Ollie, who had grown up in Thailand, was on the path to becoming a professional bare-knuckle boxer. Harry D had picked up a skateboarding sponsorship before an injury cut his extreme sports career short. Ashley C was forced to take a different approach in his teens, locking himself away for months whilst battling severe anxiety. KOKO are all about intense experiences. Their bold tunes manage to transport you to a state of hovering between melancholia and party time. KOKO provide the contemporary clubby soundtrack to Saturday nights, holding hands at the bus stop, scarred by the night, woke but happily tired and all those sweaty 4am hands-in-the-air-moments.
