Laura da Sousa draws her musical influence from song writers such as Brandi Carlile, Chris Cornell, Josh Pyke and Jenny Lewis to name but a few.
Her mother used to sing around the house when Laura was young and had the most beautiful voice and she was also a huge influence to Laura.
Her songs are real and raw, as Laura writes deep feeling music for people who feel deeply.
This emotion is demonstrated in the recently released ‘Thunderstorms’, as Laura beautifully performed the song live at Freedom Festival, Hull.
With the delightful sound of the guitar and the unique vocal style of Laura da Sousa, which leaves us captivated and wanting more despite the sadness within the lyrics of the track.
Writing has always been a form of therapy for her and she started from the age of eight.
