Leiyah’s vivid new track ‘I SEE LIGHT’

With musical lineage, her late uncle Earl Lindo, a member of The Wailers, BRIT school alum Leiyah has harnessed her early opportunities into a vibrant career since her 2019 debut. Support from national radio and press, breakthrough live performances and working with Grammy-winning industry professionals, all lead us to today, where she releases the vivid ‘I SEE LIGHT’.

Leaning into an almost synth-pop aesthetic, the new single is a spotlight down the middle of the dancefloor. Harnessing a retrofuturism in her sound with synthesised sparkle and tight electronic drums, the vocals come in as beautifully pop-directed. Catchy tones and lyrics, alongside a singalong quality, it’s pulsating in nature, danceable in execution, and each element comes together to build some of Leiyah’s most exciting work in the pop space to date.

She dives right in, sharing, “Me and Will wrote this song based on my own deep and heartfelt struggle for clarity and purpose in a world full of distractions and societal expectations. In this process, I find myself seeking divine guidance, looking to God for direction amidst the uncertainty. This spiritual pursuit adds a layer of hope, suggesting that faith can illuminate my path forward, providing comfort and wisdom in times of confusion. The combination of my inner resilience and spiritual seeking creates a rich tapestry of my experience, illustrating a journey that is as much about personal fortitude as it is about trusting in a higher purpose. Johnny Douglas played a pivotal role in bringing this track to life with his exceptional production skills. Collaborating with icons such as George Michael, Kylie Minogue, and Tina Turner, he infused the song with a unique blend of energy and emotion that resonates deeply with listeners.”
