Let’s “Try Again” with The Candle Light Children’s new single

On the 12th of January 2024, The Candle Light Children, a Jakarta-based musical project released their latest single, “Try Again”. A captivating blend of bedroom pop, dream pop, synthpop, and pop punk, this new track invites listeners on a nostalgic journey through the realms of love and loss.

Founded in 2020, The Candle Light Children is the brainchild of Adan Brightside, his brother Ridh, and guitarist Pierre Ibrahim. Inspired by an eclectic mix of artists including The Weeknd, Dayglow, Japanese Breakfast, The Strokes, and Clairo, the trio embarked on their musical journey with the debut single, ‘It Doesn’t Matter Anyway’, in March 2021.

The latest single, “Try Again”, co-written by the trio, delves into Adan’s personal journey of attempting to reconcile with an ex-girlfriend. A departure from their previous works, this track features Ridh taking the lead vocals for the first time. Adan describes the song as a nostalgia-filled exploration of trying to reclaim something lost, ultimately leading to the acceptance that it’s gone. In his own words, “With The Candle Light Children, I’ve always thrived to create songs that sound like the soundtrack to movies, and I feel that this song isn’t so different.
