Lexie Palms releases ‘Can It Be Me’

Portugese singer-songwriter Lexie Palms has captured the sunshine of her hometown Porto in her new single ‘Can It Be Me’. Now based in London, this is a promising and confident debut from the alternative pop/R&B artist. The chilled, Medditerrean vibe of the song is created through clever melodies, dreamy synths and pounding percussion. Her smooth and sultry vocals deliver lyrics focused around self-discovery and renewed hope, all culminating in a refreshing soundscape.

Speaking about her new release, Lexie Palms says: “Can It Be Me was the first track I made after taking a one-year break in song writing and producing. That was straight after I graduated from university and the stress of constantly trying to figure out what would come next in my career got the best of me. ‘Can It Be Me’ marked a shift in that mindset and unlocked a feeling of hope and desire to go further with my music. It’s about realising that when you’re hungry for more and really do it just for pure enjoyment and happiness, that’s when you start moving forward. At the same time, ‘Can It Be Me’ connects my love and longing for the ocean with my home Leça da Palmeira and Porto, which remain very present in my music.”

Lexi Palms recently collaborated on Carlos do Complexo’s latest track ‘MiSTAKES’, as well as featuring on Ellesse’s #MyStyleMySound sessions at Metropolis Studios. This young, soulful songstress has been performing for years, refining her sound in preparation for her debut EP ‘midstream’ which is to be expected later this year, and not to be missed.
