Cut Worms is the moniker of New York-based musician, Max Clarke. He hasn’t been putting out recorded music for too long, but what little he has released has been enough to entice indie label, Jagjaguwar, to add him to their roster. In listening to his new single, ‘Like Going Down Sideways‘, it’s immediately apparent why they would want him. Cut Worms takes classic guitar songwriting and warps it into something faded and dripping with nostalgia. The overall effect of ‘Like Going Down Sideways‘ is like a step back in time to the grainy past where a voice like this would come over the airwaves and speak directly to you like a long lost friend.
