Liverpool indie-rockers The Vow share their vibrant single ‘I Am Insane’

Liverpool-based indie-pop rockers The Vow are back with their poignant and self-deprecating single ‘I Am Insane’. The track is the next single off their 5th album ‘Igloo’ set for release Summer 2023.

I Am Insane’ is a wistful indie-pop tune, created around a simple acoustic guitar, intricate bass and melodious piano. Vocalist and songwriter Graham Trust wrote the song to reflect on a time when he was feeling at his lowest psychologically and displays his ability to deftly balance heavy subject-matters with well-timed lyrical wit and relatable humour. At its core, the song is a beacon of hope, brightly illuminating spaces which were once plunged in a seemingly endless darkness.

Graham was inspired by Lana Del Rey’s ‘Venice Bitch’, specifically the lyric “You’re beautiful and I’m insane”, as he explains,  “the line is so shockingly self-deprecating that it made an enormous impact on me”

The Vow, consists of Graham Trust on vocals and guitar, Tony Potter on drums, Nick Reynolds on bass and Martyn Gilbert on guitar. It’s no surprise that their main influence is fellow Scousers The Beatles, however their inspiration spreads wider to bands and artists such as David Bowie, Tears For Fears, Echo & The Bunnymen and U2 amongst others. They remain fiercely independent and since their commercial debut in 2012 have succeeded in generating millions of streams across multiple platforms.
