Known for combining break beat and jungle rhythms in previous work, ‘Axiom Pt. 2’ and tracks from it continue to show a progression in sound for the young Londoner. Her ‘from the heart’ lyrics and dark soulful vocal delivery always stands out in her music, and it’s this which she has been able translate effortlessly to other areas like trip hop, bass and RnB. The Ep’s late night, chilled sound comes courtesy of hotly tipped producers XVR BLK, Jay Jay Musika and Ogre & Runone is the perfect foil for Basheba’s trademark haunting delivery which also showcases her range and lyrical approach perfectly.
‘Axiom Pt. 2’ is out now on iTunes (via her own label Y.O.B Records) and is available to stream on Spotify, it’s the second installment of the ‘Axiom’ EP which she dropped in April this year. Also in the works are visuals for lead track ‘Platinum & Gold’ which will surface in late November.
