London Songwriter satchit Addresses A Broken Media Landscape On ‘Lilac Screen’

Alt-R&B newcomer Satchit is back with his latest self-produced track Lilac Screen.

In this poignant release, Satchit explores prevalent issues in today’s society by looking at the abuses of media freedom and how it has become increasingly difficult to decipher genuine journalism from sensationalised “fake news”. It opens with an impactful quote from prominent human rights lawyer, Amal Clooney, which helps emphasise the song’s important narrative.

The song radiates a chilled energy throughout, with verses that float over clean guitars, a multitude of percussion and distorted synths. The eerie and atmospheric production is the perfect accompaniment to satchit’s beautiful falsetto full of Indian influences, that will surely be pleasing to fans of Brent Faiyaz and Dev Hynes.

Although ‘Lilac Screen’ is filled with strong feelings and ideas, the song perfectly showcases Satchit’s talent and how he has the ability to soothe without losing sight of what’s important.
