Lucy says “The song was written out of pure frustration with the dating app experience – the cliches, inconsistencies, and disappointments, as well as my own self-sabotaging behaviors, too. ‘Don’t say what we want but we chase and we haunt.’ I was tired of meaningless conversations – I have a low tolerance for boredom. And I’d literally see the same people going round and round. It all just became so dull. I was one Peep Show quote away from handing out my number on the tube. So I put that frustration into a song.”
