Manpreet Kundi finds closure on ‘unresolved (deluxe)’

Manpreet Kundi is unveiling a deluxe edition of her heartbreak autopsy EP, unresolved. Alongside two intimate acoustic versions of project highlights ‘unresolved’ and ‘something’, the cliffhanger feeling of the narrative is concluded with ‘closure’.

A tender, piano-led epilogue to the story, ‘closure’ is still pained, but Manpreet finds her peace with the narrative. She explains, “The new song was inspired by a Friends episode, the one where Monica and Richard break up whilst slow dancing at a wedding. Monica asks “so what now?” and Richard replies with “I guess we just keep dancing”. I imagined how a final, unspoken dance together could serve as closure, since I was still searching for my own.”

The stripped-back offerings are the tracks captured in their rawest form. Further peeling away the folk-pop polish, emotion alone is left to shine through. Voice and lyricism take centre stage, the cinematic intimacy ever the signature style of this great talent.

Blending acoustic roots with lush, emotive string and synthesised arrangements, Manpreet truly feels as though she weaves from the fabric of personal experience. Performing on radio and stage, this poetic voice is one unafraid of connecting with pain, allowing it to linger until the tragedy is complete.
