Marco Spiezia shares summer-ready soul-pop on new album Fly Above

Italian-born, Cornwall-raised Marco Spiezia has revealed Fly Above, a nine-track collection of upbeat soul-pop that feels tailor-made for hazy afternoons and golden-hour drives. It’s the first we’ve seen of him since 2024, landing with a sense of ease; bright, groove-led and effortlessly good company.

Relishing in the feel-good rhythms of 70s soul, but shaped by modern sensibility, it’s warm from open till close. Jangly guitars, brass flourishes and a vocal that’s equal parts playful and sincere, Spiezia leans into rich expression with a little bit of swagger.

In his own words, “I absolutely love seventies soul, and I wanted something fresh that was inspired by the likes of Bill Withers and Nina Simone. The result was something unique which echoes the melodies of that era whilst taking modern sounds into consideration.”

It’s a blend that suits the artist, and across the record, Marco brings polish and personality. Having first launched his career in 2009, performing at beach venues and festivals across the UK, Spiezia is now settled in Rome, stepping confidently into a new chapter with a gorgeous reintroduction.
