Yet, it might not be quite what you think. Once again, Marq Electronica demonstrates his monstrous diversity as he releases a trance, techno infused track. ‘I Thought I Knew It All’ boasts a moody, darker landscape than we’ve seen from the Newcastle-Upon-Tyne based artist. Kicking off with a smooth, spacious guitar riff, the track swiftly descends into a deep trance like state as the ominous bass line bounds in. The use of space in this track is stunning. Utilising cinematic strings and subtle guitar strums as percussion, Marq Electronica fills each inch of the sonic landscape. His vocals cut through the centre with a powerful precision. If there’s one thing we can always expect from Marq Electronica, it’s that his vocal line will always be raw and passionate. ‘I Thought I Knew It All’ is much the same. And with lyrics rooted in the heartache of suddenly losing the one you love, his singing style is all the more powerful. You can feel the emotion within each refrain and it transcends the track to new heights. Whilst Marq Electronica may not know it all, he can know for sure this trance track will be a hit.
