‘Fey’ sees Swiss band Mastergrief lament over self-doubt with a melancholic ballad, aptly summed up in the line “whatever path I take […] all roads lead to decay.”
Stripped back reverberated guitar riffs and a steady drum beat lay the foundations for singer Joachim Setliks’ soaring topline that is sure to conjure up a wealth of emotions within anybody who listens.
The raw and reflective track is indicative of Mastergrief’s greater outlook, as they ultimately come to the conclusion that the journey itself is the end goal and the light at the end of the tunnel itself- they must continue in their constant search.
‘Fey’ is the third single from their debut album, released through the Radicalis label. The full album is due for release on April 15th, and we can only hope for more of the same.
