Mega Happy reveal their debut EP ‘Please Don’t Be My Dreams’

Leeds duo Mega Happy have revealed their debut EP Please Don’t Be My Dreams, offering a nostalgic indie sound. Each of the six tracks allows listeners to see a new side of Mega Happy, from the melancholic melodies of opening track ‘The Way She Feels When I Darken Door’ to the jangly riffs of the anthemic ‘Vicky’. Mega Happy are definitely bringing a unique sound to the scene, and this project is evidence of their potential.

The duo says of their new release: “We’re really proud of what we’ve created here as a piece of art. The songs stretch back from the inception of the band to the forefront of what we’re creating currently, all whilst maintaining a strong sense of cohesiveness. The themes that run throughout the piece neatly tie it together and imbue it with our identity as a band. It’s a manifestation of one of our core philosophies to create something that you would want to listen to yourself. This is something we always wanted to hear and no one else is making, so we’re unbelievably pleased to be able to share it with the world.”

Formed in 2018, Mega Happy have been making their presence known on the alternative scene, having sold out shows at Rough Trade in Nottingham as well as performing with indie scene mainstays such as Blondes and Red Rum Club. Set for big things, Mega Happy are only just getting started on their journey.
