With millions of streams under their belt already, as well as some more than impressive accolades within the music industry, Meridian are only getting started, yet have achieved some incredible things in their short career so far. Starting to release music back in 2019, the talented duo, comprised of Everett Pearson and Kyle Marshall, immediately hit it big with their debut independent release, “Trails” featuring Matt Palomino, which has racked up an impressive 1.7+ million streams on Spotify to date. Meridian swiftly followed up the success of “Trails” with a number of singles over the following year, which led to them signing their debut EP ‘halfway’ to buzzing label TH3RD BRAIN earlier in 2021.
An impressive 6-track project, halfway served as the catalyst to Meridian’s continuing success. Featuring vocal performances from singers Nylo and Ayelle, it has amassed almost 1 million collective streams on Spotify, as well as earned them placements on the platform’s editorial playlists Chill Tracks and creamy. Now, as Meridian are gearing up for their debut live show at Rise Festival this coming October, next to the likes of JP Saxe, Magic Giant and Emmit Fenn, they have started unveiling what will become their second EP, sharing infectious single “Never Say,” and – just recently – “Together.”
As they revealed, creating “Never Say” acted as the foundation for the rest of the EP, and “Together” perfectly follows up that sentiment with its organic and soothing production. Filled with bright guitar licks and warm piano chords and synths, it effortlessly evolves from something minimal to something impressive as more and more layers are added onto the arrangement. As Meridian explain:
“Together was the first track we wrote in person together after working remotely for several months. It was refreshing to once again feed off of each other’s creative energy. I think that positivity is really tangible in the music.“
“Together” is the perfect showcase of Meridian’s visionary style and impressive artistic progression, that brings together human elements and subtle electronic production to form a unified and completely unique result. The two musicians are still at the very start of their trajectory, yet with their immense talent and distinct sonic identity, they are bound to establish themselves as pioneers within their genre, and tastemakers within electronic music in general.
