‘Saddle Up’ For Millie Go Lightly’s New Music Video

Singer, songwriter, and all round rising star Mille Go Lightly has dropped off the music video for her new single, ‘Saddle Up’. The British-born, Atlanta-based singer has already demonstrated her versatility throughout her discography, but this explosive new track sees Millie take a different departure as she strips back her production and showcases her outstanding vocal ability.

Previously working with the likes of AJ Tracey, Toosii, and Young Thug, Millie has demonstrated throughout her fledgling career that she has the ability to diversify her sound. ‘Saddle Up’ however sees the artist exercise refinement in terms of production, as she creates a raw, vulnerable sonic experience. The track begins with some understated acoustic guitar chords before Millie announces herself with a smooth and silky vocal performance. The record was produced by Morgan O’Connor, who has previously written and produced for the likes of Future, Juice WRLD, and Lil Durk. O’Connor’s musical style has previously been heavily influenced by the Trap scene of Atlanta, but his move to Nashville has seen his inspiration change to the genre of Country. Millie navigates her way through this elegant instrumental effortlessly, and her vocal range is evident towards the back end of the song where she strings together some amazing vocal runs.

The music video gives us a vintage, stripped back feel, with Millie channeling her inner Marilyn Monroe as she sparks a cigarette in the driver’s seat of a classic car. There is a sense of class and poise from the artist that matches the elegance and chicness of the instrumental. The ‘Saddle Up’ video therefore perfectly matches the energy of the song, demonstrating Millie’s growth and maturity as a multi-faceted artist.

Lyrically, ‘Saddle Up’ sees Millie Go Lightly at her provocative, confident best. The track sees Millie yearning for some more excitement in her life, before confidently giving out orders to her love interest on the hook. Speaking of the single, Millie says, ‘Saddle Up is the first single from my upcoming project, ‘The Good, The Bad, And The Beautiful’. Written in Nashville, this song is the first opportunity for my fans to hear the sound of my new music.’

Millie has shown on this single that she has grown in confidence as an artist by stripping down her production and demonstrating her natural talent as a Singer-Songwriter. Whilst we should not be surprised about Millie’s capability for versatility, this song demonstrates that she is able to add another string to her artistic bow. ‘Saddle Up’ is a statement of growth and maturity for the artist, and we can expect Millie to go from strength to strength as she gears up for a full-length project later this year.
