Morningless soar with new rock anthem ‘Don’t Look Up’, a defiant ode to dreamers

90’s rock revivalists Morningless return with “Don’t Look Up”, a spirited yet reflective single that blends upbeat guitar-driven energy with a bittersweet undercurrent of anxiety. Written and recorded by frontman Davide Nevano, the song captures the push-and-pull between personal ambition and the pressures of conforming to life’s “normal” expectations.

Formed in the late ’90s by Nevano and his cousin, saxophonist/guitarist Marco Nevano, Morningless has always been a deeply personal project, shaped by Davide’s lifelong love of music, his relationships, and the winding path of balancing creativity with family life. Now, nearly three decades after its inception, the band has evolved into a solo-driven labour of love, with contributions from Marco and Davide’s wife Jasmine Croci Nevano (piano, vocals).

“Don’t Look Up is about the fear of having dreams while everybody tells you to live life ‘normally,’ like everyone else,” says Nevano. “It’s a reminder that sometimes the hardest thing is to keep looking toward your own sky.”

The track’s sunny, guitar-forward sound recalls the golden era of ’90s rock, think Oasis, R.E.M., and Gin Blossoms, while its lyrics carry a quiet resistance, a refusal to let go of personal aspirations in a world that prefers conformity. Taken from Morningless’s recently released double concept album, Two Birds Singing Lullabies, a sprawling and intimate work that spans years of songwriting and recording.
