Musicians rally together for new Anti-Trump compilation

With just over a week to go until Donald Trump takes office, the arts community is already mobilising to bolster groups that may be affected detrimentally by his administration’s policies, with Secretly Group joining forces with the team behind 30 Days, 30 Songs to launch the Our First 100 Days compilation.

Aiming to benefit areas under threat from Trump’s policies – which include reproductive rights, immigration, climate change and the LGBTQ community, Our First 100 Days will release a new song by a different artist every day, for 100 days, from January 20th. Artists contributing to the compilation include Angel Olson, Strand of Oaks, Mountain Goats, and Twin Peaks.

Secretly Group’s Phil Waldorf said about the compilation, in a statement: “Many of us woke up the morning after the election in a state of shock. Everything was different. We knew that we had to do something, and we are incredibly proud of what we are pulling together with Our First 100 Days… we hope that people not only love the music and discover some new things with this collection, but they see it as an easy way to make a contribution to a cross section of organisations who need the support right now.”
