N I T E F I S H shares punk-tinged electronic EP ‘Permaculture Heaven’

Breaking new grounds as a producer and songwriter NITEFISH refuses to stay tied to a single genre. He pitches himself as the future punk, given the title by Sebastian Murphy of Viagra Boys. Performing across Europe, and gearing up for his first London show, he’s part of the rise of hyper-pop in an entirely new way.

In a project brimming with aggressive kicks, punk-tinged vocals and screaming ethereality in the instrumentation, NITEFISH’s latest project, the new EP Permaculture Heaven is unquestionably boundary-pushing.

It’s heavily electronic but still feels raw within the immense production. There’s no filter, and the music is completely unforgiving, offering up a purposeful listening challenge. It’s noisy, gritty and rhythmically powerful, effortlessly intense with speedcore and hardcore techno production. Capturing punchy and tight drums alongside rolling breakbeats, NITEFISH accepts them all, using them to a performative advantage and he builds on the energy. Running rampant, with no-holds-barred, it’s simply unstoppable.

The artist highlights the purpose of the project, “Through these 7 tracks, I want to challenge myself and listeners to find a coexistence between how things are and how things can be, the chaotic digital feed and our ability to find new forms of collective presence, where the dance floor is a revolutionary act. Inspired by the solarpunk movement’s emphasis on art as a platform to reimagine a green degrowth society, this EP is a dream of using club music to reimagine a better world beyond the confines of our dystopian reality.”
