There’s a quiet strength to ‘Glass of Whiskey’, the new single from Nashville-based country duo Reckless Bound. It’s not flashy or dramatic – just two voices, a simple idea, and the kind of honesty that doesn’t need dressing up.
The pair behind Reckless Bound, Emma Hanlon and Sydney Paige, met in Nashville a few years ago and quickly clicked over their shared love of songwriting, performing, and the occasional tequila-fuelled writing session. Since then, they’ve built a steady following through regular live shows and a growing social media presence – but it’s their songwriting that really connects.
On ‘Glass of Whiskey’, they lean into the feeling of sitting with heartache, instead of rushing past it. Co-written with Mark Mulch and recorded in Tennessee, the track explores how something as simple as a glass of whiskey can become a stand-in for company – a small comfort. “It’s our love letter to whiskey,” they explain, “and all the times it’s helped us sit with what we’re feeling.
Reckless Bound are touring the single throughout July, with a run of Nashville shows including Ole Red and Category 10. There’s no big marketing gimmick, no overproduced video campaign – just two artists doing what they do best: sharing songs that feel real, and inviting listeners to feel something alongside them.
