Nate Mars proudly announces the release of ‘In Time (Remixes),’ a remix compilation of his previous ‘In Time’ EP. The collection showcases fresh takes from Liondub, Tim Reaper, and Starkey, each infusing their distinct flair into Mars’ work. The project also features Mars’ new original track, ‘Parallelogram,’ adding his signature touch to the compilation.
Let’s dive into it.
Liondub, a respected figure in the New York drum and bass scene, starts the collection with his rendition of ‘In Time’. His approach adds a rhythmic, smooth drum and bass layer to the original, showcasing his deep roots in the genre and history of collaboration with reggae and dancehall artists. Since 1991, Liondub has been a prominent figure, sharing stages with musical greats across various genres.
Tim Reaper, the driving force behind Future Retro London and a notable name on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list, offers his unique perspective on ‘Starting Over’. His remix is a clever blend of classic jungle elements, emphasizing his deep understanding and passion for the genre’s traditional sounds.
Starkey, a Philadelphia-based producer affiliated with Ninja Tune, contributes a distinctive mix of ‘To Kill A DJ’, infusing it with a blend of dub/reggae and UKG. His remix creates a gripping soundscape, merging Mars’ original vision with Starkey’s innovative approach to music production.
The EP concludes with ‘Parallelogram’, Mars’ latest original piece. It stands out with its dynamic drum and bass/UKG fusion, characterized by sharp percussion and robust basslines. Mars’ skill in crafting captivating, rhythm-driven tracks is evident in this addition.
Mars expresses his gratitude and excitement about the remixes: “It’s a huge honor to release these remixes of my tracks. Working with such talented artists has been an incredible experience, and I’m thrilled with their interpretations of my work.”
