Nika Taleghani returns with big remix ‘The Cave 2.0’

Nika Taleghani is only 19 and is already gliding her way into her third release. This time though, things are a little different. The Cave 2.0 is an extension of her previous single, aptly named – The Cave (obviously). However, it looks and feels like a completely different track. We weren’t sure what to expect having covered her debut single Back and Forth, but this was certainly a pleasant surprise.

This change in style is unexpected, yet graciously welcomed as we find ourselves remembering the likes of Robyn, more recently Charlie XCX and early Lady Gaga as we listen to it. Those are artists who really broke new ground in the industry when they first appeared on the scene and it doesn’t feel too dissimilar now with Nika. There is huge potential here, of that we have no doubt.

Throughout the remix, there are clear signs of development in Nika’s songwriting as we are kept engaged until the end. Lyrically, we see a different side of Nika here as she opens up about her struggles with anxiety. Singing, we learn, is what keeps her grounded. But The Cave 2.0 shows that she doesn’t feel sorry for herself, as we can’t help but bop to the tune.

Nika talks about the track:

“I wanted to create something that would make people get up and dance. Dancing is something that I hold close to my heart. I would always dance in front of my bedroom mirror to alleviate the anxiety that I had.”
