No Cash Refunds, a project from Grimsby-based creative Charlie, has seen support from both national radio and editorials, making the cut for Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday’ and ‘Our Generation’. Energising audiences at a headline event in the Electric Theatre, Guildford and supporting the likes of Billie-Angela, Coupdekat, and Coco Vieno, the artist’s current industry stock is growing to a fever pitch.
With that momentum backing him, the latest from No Cash Refunds arrives as a new single ‘Don’t Think Twice’. Building an atmosphere from warm punchy bass lines, and slightly disjointed but beautifully bedroom percussion, the soft hum of synths swells into an ethereal vocal performance, the uniqueness of his sound showing in spades.
A fresh simplicity on the service, his production is polished and intricate, vocals rising from the depth of the mix as gorgeous layers of harmony. The repeating lyrical hook of the title line is tinged with pop infectiousness, expressive and captivating.
Charlie explains the song as, “a reflection on youthful defiance and the bittersweet passage of time.”
