Nordic art pop musician IRENE unveils ‘Skybound’ music video

IRENE is a Nordic art pop artist, musician and producer from Finland, and ‘Skybound‘ is her brand new single and the grand finale of her four-piece introduction, which began last year, and has accumulated over half a million Spotify streams already.

The track, which was written and pre-produced by IRENE, and finally produced into its final form with Danish American composer Noah Rosanes, sees IRENE entering a more orchestral arena than her previous work, as she introduces a cinematic, spacious and expansive element to her music catalogue with ‘Skybound‘, which could be a perfect fit as a James Bond theme song.

According to IRENE, the track is “an intergalactic love story about the connection between two people. There’s so much more to this universe than meets the eye. Our imagination is our direct channel to wherever. If you have a cosmic tie with someone, you’ll sense each other’s presence. It doesn’t matter if you’re thousand kilometers or already a lifetime away. You are connected“.

For the video, IRENE has collaborated with award-winning director and filmmaker Juha Ilmari Laine to deliver a cinematic visual, which in IRENE’s own words, would not have turned out as it did, if the original plans for the video shoot had happened, instead of the impromptu dance that the video was built around. “We ended up keeping it because it felt awfully naked. That’s exactly how you feel after revealing something true and intimate about yourself”, IRENE confesses.
