NY punks Big Ups announce new album and release ‘PPP’

New York’s Big Ups have built up a head of steam with the rapid releases of their effervescent first two albums, and they show no sign of slowing down yet. Today they have announced the release of their third album Two Parts Together for 18th May through Exploding In Sound.

The first single to come from the album is ‘PPP’, a song “about the power of mystery, with the subject of the song being a crystal.” They also say that “It plays with the idea that psychics will see the future in a crystal ball. But what if the crystal breaks and refracts the vision, like a prism? Or magnifies it? A lot of the songs on Two Parts Together focus on unknowability, and this song flips the script on a psychic reading.”

This carnival-mirror clarity they’re describing is audible on the track, as their rambunctious punk stylings move between the scrappy and the pure, making ‘PPP‘ an vicious little earworm.

Two Parts Together can be pre-ordered here ahead of its May 18th release. They’ve also got a whole bunch of tour dates, which can be seen here.
