Olistar is a Nigerian musician and performer from Onitsha, Anambra State that is determined to get his unique Drill sound heard far and wide. His music obsession was ignited when he delving into the world of Biggie Smalls and Bob Marley, this obsession coincided with watching his mother perform, so making music his passion and career path was a no-brainer.
‘Bando Baby’ showcases his signature sound. Hard-hitting drums pierce through the mix, creating a formidable partnership when partnered with a thundering bass line. Atmospheric synths lie on top, creeping in slightly and layering nicely within the mix. His bars are well-penned, straight talking and laced with emotion. Within the track’s melting pot of Afrobeat, Drill and Hip-Hop, the track is inspired by Olistar’s growth from the streets in Onitsha, and he uses his craft to try and inspire every youth, no matter where they’re coming from.
Elaborating further on this, he shares:
“Coming from my city Onitsha, Nigeria, I feel the need to advocate for the youths in the world because I got first hand hood life, and making it to this point I know a lot of youths need to see the light at the end of every tunnel and that will send a great wide wave of hope across the world.”
Olistar is also currently gearing up for a 2023 European tour.
