‘ONI/KIJO’ is debut EP from British alt-metal sextet MEMORIST.
The five track EP charts the emotional journey of singer Jon over a period of 18 months through the breakdown of a toxic relationship, the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting aftermath.
‘ONI’ begins with heavy beats and even heavier vocals, but despite all this there is still something intangible about the track that grabs our attention.
The track then dials the tempo back as Memorist treats us to a mixture of metal and more laid back vocals, the latter of which have a anthemic quality to them.
