Perfectparachutepicture have been making waves on the alt-rock scene, following the success of their March record ‘The Stream’ and a trio of well-received singles in 2020. The rising duo, known for pairing soft melodic vocals with brash riffy rock, have remained authentic to their signature sound whilst injecting an even darker energy into their latest single ‘Idea’, which sees storming percussion and high-octane riffs accompany authentic lyricism. The track is paired with a music video showing Perfectparachutepicture performing their new release.
Discussing their new single, the duo says: “‘Idea’ is a song about being so focused on one thing in your life that it consumes everything else in a negative way, because you’re racing to get to where you want to be in your own head and you leave everything else behind. It’s about realising that there’s more to life than that one thing you see as your ultimate achievement and the song rides the emotional rollercoaster that this feeling brings.”
Hailing from Sheffield, Perfectparachutepicture have received support from BBC Music Introducing and BBC Radio 6 Music, as well as receiving worldwide airplay. New single ‘Idea’ will join recent release ‘The Stream’ on the duo’s upcoming ‘White Walls’ EP, which is set to drop in July.
