Having toured with international heavy hitters like Beyoncé, Kanye West, Solange and Missy Elliott, R&B/Pop artist Shawn Emanuel has returned with his brand new gem ‘Messed Up’, alongside some striking visuals.
With a creamy, soulful vocal and heartfelt, relatable lyrics, Shawn’s newest offering makes for a tantalising listen. Released today, Shawn also shares with us his cinematic music video for the record, that encompasses stylistic shots filmed from the comfort of his own kitchen, as well as of the talent on holiday in Los Angeles. The self edited video perfectly accompanies the single and shows off Shawn’s adept and far reaching creative skills.
Shawn reveals: “‘Messed Up’ is based on a moment of realisation, when you’ve been pushed to the edge, you’ve had enough and you decide to put yourself first. I remember humming the melody on the way home from work, and killed myself to quickly get home and lay it down. Then I had to work out how to get live horns and guitar on the track… I had a lot of fun creating this record, I hope people enjoy it as much as I do.”
