Mauritian composer, music producer and classical crossover pianist Rahul Suntah is back with a new original piece from his new upcoming piano album consisting of 10 brand new piano compositions each with a particular genre, theme, story and reflection, revealing the best ones before releasing the album.
‘Aurora’ begins with a stirring soundscape that leads to a lively arrangement and a delightful melody, as Rahul Suntah once again uses his creative wizardry to conjure up this beautiful and charming track.
‘Aurora’ is a rock inspired cinematic piano track dedicated to all those who have found themselves again after a difficult moment and managed to pull themselves back up.
He quotes “The heart was meant to be broken but also meant to be rebuilt stronger.
To renewals and new beginnings, the dawn of something better, symbolised by the Aurora.”
This is the last chronological track of his new album.
Rahul also showcases his authenticity and creativity as a composer by using piano extended techniques to create unique sounds – Direct manipulation of the piano strings, strings muting, bowed strings and piano percussion.
The sound produced by plucking the piano strings directly was sampled and played on ROLI’s seaboard controller to emulate other famous instruments like the electric guitar and the sitar.
