Nigerian-born, though now based in London, RAPHAEL first debuted in 2023, with his single ‘Faith’ showcasing a story of leaping into the unknown. This track was shortly followed by ‘Dreams’, which expanded on RAPHAEL’s themes of risk-taking. Alongside his music, RAPHAEL also showcases a penchant for crafting engaging visuals, with each of his music videos garnering thousands of views on YouTube.
Continuing to develop his bombastic pop R&B sound, the songwriter has just released his third single ‘Love Is Money’. The instrumentation showcases momentous, sparkling synth chords, pounding kick drums and rattly hi-hats, alongside soft and thoughtful piano arpeggios. This contrast gives the track a vibrant energy, whilst helping its themes of love remain present and passionate.
RAPHAEL shares his thoughts, “The song celebrates the heart’s currency and the power of love. If I search for a feeling, I’m rich in my heart … love is like money in your pocket; if you’ve got it, you’re rich.” I sing in my song “Love is Money. ” There aren’t many who rule the world without a penny; yes, I can.”
Going on to explain the video, the artist adds, “Music videos are an integral part of my artwork, and it helps tell my stories of my singles visually. My videos chronicle the journey of an astronaut. The Astronaut is a beacon of light and hope for diversity and inclusivity. Anyone can be an Astronaut regardless of race, gender, age, and social status. We are all the same in many ways and would all be the same at face value in a spaceman suit.”
