Leicester’s next rising star shanesa has shared with us her brand new EP ‘Impasse’ today, and it is a project not to be missed. Channeling the sounds of Jhene Aiko, Jill Scott and Kehlani, shanesa has nestles into her own distinct brand of sultry R&B that is perfect for your chilled or late night playlists. Taking listeners on a raw, personal journey throughout the EP, the young artist lyrically laments on the feeling of disappointment she felt in a previous relationship.
shanesa explained, “I wrote ‘Impasse’ within a month. I was going through some heartache and needed an outlet because I’m not great at expressing my emotions. Hopefully this comes through in the EP.”
Since she began releasing back in 2018, shanesa has found her own style and is thriving within it. Single-handedly writing, engineering, mixing and mastering all of her music, shanesa’s authentic and dedicated work ethic can really be heard from each of her offerings. Turning heads and steadily growing her fanbase, shanesa’s debut EP ‘Esoteric’ hit an impressive 100k streams back in 2020. With so much more to offer, we can’t wait to hear what this glowing talent returns with next.
