The indie rockers’ new lead track is classy and calm on the verses, before it bursts into the electric chorus, with the band stating how: “Break Up Songs is two fingers up to sadness, and a dedication to moving on from a toxic relationship and working on yourself.”
Balancing the bursting speed of the new lead single is ‘Save Me’, pushing the band in a different direction with an acoustic backing, melancholic lyrics and lead singer Liam Allison’s impeccable belts. Joining the stadium ready singles of ‘Faking’ and ‘Boys Like Me’, the whole EP showcases the lads incredible new sound.
Speaking of the EP as a whole, Retro Video Club said: “Situations is the story of a relationship cycle. From Boys Like Me, the initial chat up lines, Break Up Songs and Faking, the aftermath of a broken down romance, to Save Me, the final stages of grief and finding out just how much it really meant to you.”
