‘Reunion’ mesmerizes with stirring synth melodies and lyrics from Velcro that are a vibrant throwback to yesteryear

Over 20 years in the making, high school friends Jimmy Ruddock (vocals, guitar), Tamir Bar-Haim (guitar), Josh Grunberg (drums) and Vic Uppal (bass) decided to get the old band Velcro, back together again to record the album that was never made all those years ago.

‘Reunion’ is the first single from the band’s forthcoming album and is a nostalgia fest of 80s synths, chorus laden guitars, sweeping strings and horns, and an infectious groove, underscoring a high school reunion in which the protagonist wanders familiar hallways “talking to strangers that he used to know” and lamenting that “nobody told him life would peak at fifteen.”

The accompanying visuals have an 80s theme to it as the music video plays out like a retro VHS home movie, that exudes nostalgic memories.
