Review: Anastave Releases New Album ‘I Don’t Want You In The Light’ 9/10

We’ve been covering Anastave now for a while, the experimental music producer based in Berlin. Previous single ‘Medicine’ brought her to our attention and we’ve been following her ever since. She has now released her new album ‘I Don’t Want You In The Light’ which takes us further into her mind as she continues to break the boundaries of what it means to be a solo act in the modern day.

Most recent single ‘Every Night’ is yet another stylistic change for the American. Even though the songwriting may come from a different place, it’s still married together under the same ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’ that she delivers time and time again throughout the album, in terms of production.

Weaving between sad bangers and slow paced numbers, the album pulls on a number of different stings throughout the 9 tracks. It feels like an exploration of the self that takes us on a almost visual journey, created by the experimental nature of the music.

This is an album we’ll be listening for a while, and for that reason we give it a 9/10. Check it out below!
