Jack Howard has kicked off 2024 impressively, with his single “Circles” gaining support from BBC Radio 1 and “Another Day” receiving praise from 1883, Wordplay, and Earmilk. As he gears up for the July release of his debut EP, “All Things That Came Before,” Jack has unveiled the evocative track “Falling.” This song blends a stirring choir, cinematic guitars, and a dreamy soundscape to create a powerful narrative of boldness and vulnerability. The production is meticulous, featuring gospel cries and a brooding accompaniment, capturing a journey from grief to resolve.
Jack explains,
“Falling is about cutting someone loose who is dragging you down into the darkness with them. This was one of the last songs I wrote on the EP and it only took about 20 mins to create the whole thing. I was on my guitar and I just heard this choir sing FAALIng in my head. I based the whole song around the one word and all these feelings I’d had locked up for so long finally came rushing out.”
Originally from Portsmouth, Jack’s move to London has propelled his career, leading to sold-out shows at Prince Albert and Colours Hoxton and festival appearances at The Great Escape and Wild Paths. His music, a blend of indie, alt-pop, and soul, reflects his journey and introspective themes of identity, relationships, and hardship. With his debut EP on the horizon, 2024 promises to be a defining year for Jack Howard.
