Fresh off the back of a frenzied 2023 that saw Ryan’s dance-pop sound garner attention from various UK tastemakers, including esteemed press and BBC Introducing. Performing at The Great Escape festival and then headlining Paper Dress Vintage in London, Ryan has already set an intent for 2024, returning with a refined sound and exciting new ideas.
Ryan’s latest release is a glittery new remix of Nate James’ 2005 classic ‘The Message’. The Brit-funk artist’s classic sound is given a new and vibrant makeover for the track, with Ryan’s signature nu-disco and house influences wrapping around his soulful vocal performance. Pounding drums featuring tight kicks and bouncy percussive hits energise the atmosphere, whilst warm and dynamic synth arrangements give us both luxuriant pads and shining melodic lines. The track seems to shine a light on whoever is listening, with the joyous sounds becoming immediately infectious.
Ryan shares, ”To be involved in this project has been such an honour! I think when trying to put a spin on a record that’s been MOBO nominated and had so much success part of the challenge is to do something that’s very different from the original, whilst trying to keep it instantly recognisable – I hope I’ve done that and everyone loves it because I’ve been so excited to release this one since I made it!”
