saachisen releases joyous new single ‘If You Knew What I Was Thinking’

Performing in iconic venues and festivals including Roundhouse, the Southbank Centre and Pride in London, saachisen has built an esteemed reputation around her live presence. Alongside live success, most recently at her first overseas headliner in Berlin, playing to a sellout crowd, the artist has received an abundance of press acclaim and support and reached the semifinals of the International Songwriting Competition.

Working alongside Amanda Merdzan at Abbey Road Studios, saachisen has crafted a new single entitled ‘If You Knew What I Was Thinking’. Showcasing her varied influences, the track brings subtly intricate orchestral influences to a glowing and emotive alt-pop sound. Grooving bass lines, soft percussive movement and a glimmering piano interweave with violin and cello melodies to support an impassioned vocal performance. saachisen soars through lush melodies, her performative vocals taking the listener through an energised love-drenched narrative. Charming and pure bliss!

saachisen explains, “In ‘If You Knew What I Was Thinking’ I wanted to capture the euphoria of falling for someone, but also the frustration of knowing you shouldn’t tell them. The melody, lyrics and arrangement were all crafted to reflect that battle between head and heart – particularly in the shift between the verses and choruses. This track is unusual for me because I actually wrote the strings parts first and built everything else up around them, as I loved the warm, joyful sound they brought to the song. I’m really excited to share this and launch it at my first ever overseas show at the Indian Embassy in Berlin on the week of release!”
