Samuel Evanson unveils emotive album teaser ‘Jade Green’

Going viral overnight all the way back in 2016, Samuel Evanson’s possibilities in the industry have been evident from a young age. With an impressive career appearing on BBC One, raising money for Children In Need and using his new Liverpool home to emerge into the television sector, the artist’s return to music is set to make waves, with his debut album, We Are Meant To Break The Rules on the horizon.

Samuel Evanson’s latest single is the fresh and sparkling ‘Jade Green’. Opening with a moment of chorus-drenched ethereality, the track soon settles into its chugging along indie-rock aesthetics, the vocals moving from moment to moment with subtle emotions and moments bursting through the reserve. As the chorus rounds the corner, the music begins to bloom into a glowing and gracious anthem, letting the pained emotions sink in without wanting to reveal it all. The track continues in its hurt but garners a sense of optimism in the final moments, a wash of acceptance falling over Samuel’s words.

Samuel shares the heartbreaking backstory of the track, ”I wrote the record Jade Green earlier in the year to help me process the loss of one of my closest friends who was murdered by her ex partner at just 27. I was struggling to face the loss and hid myself away for a while but the track has helped me get closure on this tragic event. I later decided to release this track as the final single before my debut album ‘We Are Meant To Break The Rules’ is released in June.

I want her name to be heard worldwide because she was such an incredible person and it may also help other people in similar situations. The UK Government has also introduced a law to protect the children of parents murdered by their partner as previously they still had a say in their children’s lives, this has been called ‘Jades Law’ and I wanted to show my support for this also.”
